Every post office has a postmaster. In our case, this is Ray Chandler. Shortly after his appointment, he officially hired his own dog – Jax.

And the dog began to walk daily with his owner to work, taking a place at the desk.

People there go to the post office not only to send a letter or receive a package. At the post office, you can see neighbors, chat about sore problems, and discuss the latest news.

And now people began to come in and just to greet a friendly and cute dog.

Jax is a postal clerk and is the official stamp licker. Very convenient: buy a stamp, bring it to Jax… and voilà, you can stick it on!

Of course, not all visitors need such help, but those who apply are truly delighted!

And Jax himself is always happy to try. And clients seem to appreciate the help and care.

“Jax really likes it,” postmaster Ray assures the reporter. “Do you want him to stick it for you too?”

In fact, it seemed that Jax was getting down to business very zealously. So zealously that sometimes he swallows the stamps entrusted to him.

“There is some risk to the client, of course,” Ray jokes. “Let’s call it the cost of production!”

But none of the visitors are offended – on the contrary, all the townspeople are absolutely happy.

“He has become a real center of attraction for those who live here,” says the owner. – “In provincial Great Britain, it is customary to talk about nature – about the weather. And now people are coming here to pet Jax and talk about him.”

Many visitors do not come empty-handed, they bring food and dog treats. Someone just comes in to hug and pat the postal clerk behind the ear.

Jax is an iconic figure in the town. Everybody knows Jax, and Jax knows everybody. And he greets, waving his tail to oncoming people.
