In July, a group of volunteers found a pregnant shepherd dog near the US-Mexico border.
Taking pity on the dog, they took it to a charity shelter and gave it the name Georgia.
On August 13, the dog gave birth to puppies prematurely. Unfortunately, they did not survive.
“I can best describe her reaction in words: she was furious. She was looking for her babies.
She tore open the mattress she had slept on, hoping to find them. It was really sad to watch this,” says Anita Osa, the founder of the shelter.
After 2 days, the woman decided to help Georgia and introduced her to the orphaned kittens.
“First I brought one and let her smell them. When I realized that she didn’t mind, I brought the others.
It was amazing to see how the dog instantly calmed down and began to care for the kittens as if they were their own cubs. I think the kittens didn’t understand that she was a dog either,” Anita says.
Touching pictures of a dog with kittens has collected hundreds of thousands of likes.
How important it is when there is someone to take care of, no matter who you are, human or dog.
At the moment, all the kittens have been taken from the shelter, and Georgia moved to live with one of them.
