A tiny, one-day-old kitten was found crawling alone down a path, soaking wet after heavy rain.
A kind-hearted woman took him home and replaced the mother he was deprived of.
She named the kitten Bruce after the orphaned Bruce Wayne (Batman).
That day, while walking home after a downpour, Kathryn Van Beek found something barely moving on the road.
At first, she thought it was a mouse, but upon closer inspection, she saw a tiny kitten that still had an umbilical cord.
“He didn’t squeal when I found him, he just slowly crawled around, as if trying to find his mother,” Kathryn said. She brought him home and fed him – he desperately needed food.
On the 12th day, Bruce weighed over 100 grams!
Katherine devoted all her time to caring for the kitten. She had to get up at night to feed him.
The girl did not need an alarm clock, as she soon discovered that when tiny Bruce was hungry, his voice was louder than any alarm clock.
In the early days, Katherine took the baby with her to work.
Although Katherine and her family did not plan on getting a second cat, she decided to keep the kitten.
