The modern world can be so busy and full of distractions that we forget to spend time with those who really matter to us.
Maintaining good and warm relations with family members is of course of paramount importance. In the end, the family is those people who will help you out under any circumstances.
However, sometimes, unfortunately, we miss the opportunity to see distant relatives.
Annie Berry recently celebrated her 105th birthday and has been visited by 5 generations to give the oldest member of the family unforgettable memories.
According to Berry, Olivia, the youngest member of the family, was as sweet as a grandmother.
Berry was born in Meridian, at a time in history when segregation was widespread throughout the world.
She remembered picking cotton and husking corn in her early years, and saw the world change several times.
Of course, the world Olivia grows up in is markedly different from the one Berry faced.
And this is not surprising, given their 105-year age difference. Berry gave clear instructions to little Olivia:
“I wish you were kind and loving and do what your mom says.”
Well, Annie Berry certainly deserves respect and reverence. How wonderful that, years later, Olivia will realize that she had the opportunity to meet her great-great-grandmother!
