Fearless Kitty Rescue in Fountain Hills has added another ward – a black cat that was found on the street in a closed cooler bag.
The owners left it on the “bench for donations”. This is the name of a special place where everyone can put unnecessary things for the homeless and poor people.
In Arizona, an animal in a closed container without access to air was doomed to death.
There was no hope for passers-by. None of the people paid attention to the bag, which stood motionless on the bench.
Fortunately, not far from the place was a dog – a husky named Koda.
She smelled the animal and pulled the owner to the bench. He, seeing the anxiety of the pet, opened the bag and found in it a sweaty and barely alive cat.
It is not known how long she suffered and how much more she would have endured if Koda had not found her.
The rescued animal was immediately taken to the El Dorado veterinary clinic.
Despite the experience and the health problems that existed even before the incident, nothing serious was found in the cat.
The clinic gave the cat the name Juliane. In Danish culture, this name means “fearless”.
According to the director of the clinic, this name is very suitable for their new ward.
The cat turned out to be a real fighter and, perhaps, it was thanks to her character that she lasted so long.
According to animal rights activists, Juliane is now undergoing rehabilitation and regaining her strength. But very soon they will start looking for a new home for her.
In the meantime, the shelter sent an official request to law enforcement agencies to investigate the incident.
For leaving the animal in danger, the owners face a serious fine and a ban on keeping pets.
