When the police finally opened the trunk of the car, everyone froze… and they immediately understood why the dog had been desperately trying to open it.
In broad daylight, the parking lot buzzed with its usual noise: car doors slamming, engines starting, hurried pedestrians crossing the asphalt without paying attention to what was happening around them.
Then something strange suddenly caught everyone’s attention.
A medium-sized stray dog with short fur stood behind a dark sedan. Balanced on its hind legs, it scratched relentlessly at the trunk of the vehicle. At times, it even tried to grab the handle with its teeth before barking insistently, as if it were trying to warn someone.

— Maybe you should open the trunk… just to check.
But Daniel firmly refused.
— No. I have to leave, and I know perfectly well there’s nothing in there.
That was the exact moment when a police car entered the parking lot.
A few minutes later, the officers approached, listened to the witnesses… and finally decided to open the trunk. The moment it was opened, an icy silence spread across the entire parking lot.
Even the police officers stood frozen for several seconds.
The dog immediately moved closer, whimpering softly, its eyes fixed on the inside of the trunk.
Daniel suddenly turned pale.

Daniel kept trying to explain himself, but nobody was listening anymore.
