Victoria’s family bought a 63-square-meter, three-bedroom apartment. As is often the case, the renovation took longer than expected, made even more complicated by their decision to completely redesign the space and remove all the old interior elements, including flooring and wall coverings.
Victoria ordered a construction plan but didn’t work directly with a designer. The project was developed with the active participation of the homeowners. While a number of changes were made by the owners, some of the suggested ideas were implemented.
The kitchen’s workspace floor was covered with unique hexagonal tiles that immediately catch the eye, adding a stylish and creative touch to the space. The rest of the flooring was covered with dark, elegant parquet. The walls were painted in a deep, nuanced blue, creating the perfect balance between elegance and modernity.
The owners opted for white surfaces in the kitchen, even though the initial project suggested a different approach. These classic, British-inspired cabinets create a beautiful contrast with the dark walls and perfectly complement the unique floor tiles.
Victoria initially considered using the same hexagonal tiles for both the backsplash and the floor, but their shape and size didn’t match well. After careful thought, she chose a different model in the right colors and spent three hours meticulously arranging them on the floor to achieve the best possible composition.
One of the most significant changes involved the bar counter. Minor miscalculations and space constraints led to replacing the original window ledge. This adjustment not only brightened the bar area but also optimized the use of space.
In the end, the finished kitchen turned out to be quite different from the initial project, but even more unique. The owners infused it with their creativity and personality, transforming the space into a place that is not only functional but also warm, original, and a true reflection of their style.
