I hired an actor to pretend to be my boyfriend at the pool party where my ex-husband showed up with his mistress. He laughed at me… until my fake boyfriend taught him a lesson he would never forget…
Thomas and I had been together for twenty years, and I believed we had a happy marriage. I thought so when he proposed to me after college, and again when I gave birth to our four children.
But a few months ago, I saw a message from another woman appear on his phone. I was holding our six-month-old daughter in my arms when I asked him for an explanation.
Thomas simply replied:
“I’m with Sophie now. We’ve been together for over a year. I don’t want to waste any more time with a woman I’m NO LONGER ATTRACTED TO AT ALL.”
Sophie was his secretary at work. She was beautiful, tall, and about ten years younger than him.
I had been pregnant with our baby while he was cheating on me.
My heart shattered.
Then came the divorce. It was one of the hardest periods of my life.
As our son’s fifteenth birthday approached, he dreamed of throwing a big pool party with all his family and friends.
So I organized everything.
Then Thomas sent me a message:
“I’m bringing Sophie. She’s ALSO PART OF MY FAMILY.”
My God… I desperately wanted to show him that I was doing perfectly fine without him.
So I contacted an acting agency. They sent me an actor named Alexandre, who agreed to PRETEND to be my boyfriend.
When I saw him for the first time, I was almost speechless. He was tall, handsome, and confident. How could a man like him possibly be interested in a woman like me?
I was about to cancel the whole charade, but Alexandre said:
“Don’t you want him to see how happy you are without him?”
So I decided to go through with it.
I was standing beside Alexandre when Thomas and Sophie came over to greet us.
Thomas burst out laughing and said:
“He would NEVER be with you! Have you even looked at yourself in a mirror?”
I wanted the ground to swallow me whole.
Then Alexandre smiled at Thomas, handed him a GIFT BOX, and told him he also had something for the father of the boy whose birthday we were celebrating.
Thomas opened the box.
His face suddenly went pale.
He started screaming so loudly that the whole street could hear him.
And me? I couldn’t stop smiling. ⬇️ ⬇️
Thomas opened the box with a mocking smile.
Inside, he found a family photo taken just a few days earlier: me, our four children, and our fifteen-year-old son whose birthday we were celebrating.
Behind the photo, a small piece of paper had been carefully folded.
Thomas unfolded it.
It read:
“You’re an idiot for leaving a woman like her alone.”
His smile immediately disappeared.
Sophie looked over his shoulder at the message.
“What does that mean?”
Thomas didn’t answer.
He simply stared at the photo.
At first glance, it was an ordinary picture: I was standing in the middle of our children, smiling and surrounded by the people I loved.
But to Thomas, it seemed to tell an entirely different story.
He had just realized something he probably never imagined: despite his leaving, despite his cruel words, and despite his affair with Sophie, our family had continued moving forward.
Alexandre leaned slightly toward him.
“Some people only understand the value of what they had after they’ve lost it.”
Thomas clenched his jaw.
“You’re not even her real boyfriend.”
Alexandre smiled.
“No. I’m being paid to play that role. But what you’re seeing here is very real.”
He pointed toward my children.
“She isn’t alone. She has a family that loves her. And unlike you, they never made her feel like she wasn’t good enough anymore.”
Thomas remained silent.
Then our son walked over.
“Dad, why do you always laugh at Mom?”
Thomas opened his mouth, but no words came out.
I looked at my son, then at Thomas.
And suddenly, I no longer needed to pretend to be a happy woman.
I truly was happy.
Alexandre then held out his arm to me.
I took it.
Thomas watched us walk toward the pool.
This time, he wasn’t laughing anymore.
And I didn’t even look back.
