😳 I made a bold decision: skipping traditional tiles and covering the kitchen walls with laminate. 🙈✨ At first, I had doubts, but the result speaks for itself! The whole look of the kitchen has changed. Check out the final result in the article below 👇
Today, we’re sharing a small kitchen renovation where the choice of materials made all the difference. Instead of classic tiles, the owner opted for laminate to dress the walls.
To define the space, a plaster niche was built to integrate the kitchen furniture. Small openings were added at the top to install spotlights, providing extra lighting for the worktop.
Originally, the owner planned to tile the walls but eventually changed his mind and went for laminate. This bold choice gave the kitchen a fresh and original touch.
To optimize space, the oven and microwave were stacked, and instead of upper cabinets, open shelves were installed to store utensils and dishes. The laminate furniture and flooring were matched, while the light-colored table and white walls created a lovely contrast.
Even the wall adjacent to the dining area was covered with laminate, reinforcing the cohesive design. Two elegant pendant lights above the table complete the dining space beautifully.
After the renovation, the kitchen became modern, practical, and harmonious. The standout feature? The laminate wall covering, which gives the space its unique character.
Of course, some may question the durability of laminate in a kitchen. The owner, however, is thrilled with the result and believes it could be a great alternative to tiles and traditional materials.
What about you? Good idea or risky bet? It’s hard to say how laminate will hold up over time… It might swell or get damaged. Maybe decorative plaster or tiles would have been safer choices, especially near the cooking area.
Stay tuned!
