This dresser had been at my spouse’s grandma’s house for many years 😲. Over time, it had lost its original appearance: the color had faded, and the legs looked unsteady ☺️. I decided to transform it completely 😍. The result is astonishing ☺️. See for yourself ⬇️⬇️
My mother-in-law made an important decision to preserve some items from her own mother-in-law’s house.
When she sold the house, I asked her to keep two bedside tables and two chairs so they wouldn’t be sold with the property.
With Grandma, her most treasured items—kitchen utensils, blankets, dressers, paintings, and other personal effects—were moved to her new home and found their place in my mother-in-law’s attic.
This summer, during our visit to my husband’s family, I decided to breathe new life into one of the bedside tables. It had lost its charm: the paint was peeling, and the legs looked fragile.
I started by completely removing the old finish. It wasn’t an easy task, but I enjoyed imagining the final result.
At that moment, it seemed like the simplest solution was to repaint it in a new color and replace the legs and handles. I chose a soft pastel shade and vintage-style handles to retain its authentic character.
I replaced the legs with more modern designs, giving it better stability and a lighter appearance.
Once the work was finished, I felt immense satisfaction. The bedside table had transformed: it was no longer just furniture but a true gem for the room. It was my very first renovation project, and it turned out to be both practical and inspiring.
For beginners, projects like this are ideal: they don’t require too much time or effort but allow you to learn the basics of furniture renovation while experiencing the joy of the final result.
