A few days ago, our neighborhood had a collection for old, embarrassing items. People typically get rid of household trash, outdated appliances, old TVs, and damaged items.

To our surprise, we found an old colonial-style wooden chair, very popular in the 90s. It’s still sturdy but shows some scratches and paint marks.
So, we decided to give it a new life by repainting it.

It’s so satisfying to transform discarded objects into something beautiful – it’s truly recycling at its most creative! The trickiest part was choosing the color. After some thought, we went for a bold red. This color gives the chair a stunning style and serves as a great backdrop for our photos.

If you want to restore something, keep an eye out for trash collections in your neighborhood. You might find items at home just waiting to be revived.
To bring new life to this chair, we carefully sanded the entire surface with very fine sandpaper. This step removed the shine from the old paint and any stains.

Then we cleaned the chair with a damp cloth to get rid of the accumulated dust and dirt. Finally, we applied a coat of White Knight rust-inhibiting primer.
