The poor student got into the wrong car, not knowing it belonged to a billionaire — and his proposal literally left her frozen, shocked to the core 😱 😲
Helena was completely exhausted. Two back-to-back shifts at the cafeteria, three exams to prepare for, and barely four hours of sleep in two days. When she saw the black car parked in front of the university library at 11 p.m., she simply got in without checking the license plate.
She opened the back door and sat down, convinced it was her Uber.
The seat was incredibly soft. Too soft, actually. An unusual kind of luxury… but her overworked brain didn’t register the warning. She closed her eyes.
Just for a second.
When she woke up, a deep, amused male voice broke the silence.
“Do you usually fall asleep in strangers’ cars, or is this my lucky day?”
Helena jumped.
A man was sitting next to her.
Impeccable suit, features worthy of a magazine cover, carefully tousled brown hair, an ironic smile playing at the corner of his lips. Clearly not a driver.
As she looked around, she noticed it.
She noticed the built-in minibar — a minibar in a car.
“By the way, you snored for twenty minutes,” he added.
Heat rushed to her face.
“I do not snore.”
“Yes, slightly… and it was actually charming.”
She scanned the interior: elegant wood trim, touchscreen display, high-end leather… this wasn’t just a luxury car, it was pure extravagance.
“You’re not Uber,” she murmured.
“Absolutely not. Gabriel Albuquerque. And you are currently in my car… the one you kindly commandeered for a nap.”
Embarrassed, she grabbed the handle.
“I’m so sorry. I’ll get out right away.”
“It’s late. Where do you live?”
“That’s none of your business.”
He gave a calm smile.
“After you slept in my house on wheels, I feel slightly responsible for your safety. I’ll drive you.”
She should have refused, but exhaustion won.
The ride passed in silence. When they arrived in front of her modest apartment building, he spoke again.
“He made her an offer she had to decide on immediately. Accept or refuse. He handed her his business card, and it was only once she got home that Helena read his first name… That night, her best friend almost screamed when she saw it. She was shocked when she discovered who owned the car she had accidentally slipped into.

“I need a personal assistant, with flexible hours and very attractive pay.”
She froze.
“This isn’t charity, Helena. It’s an honest offer.”
He handed her a card.
Three days later, she called him.
The next day, the car came back to pick her up.
That night, my best friend almost screamed when she saw the name.
“Gabriel Albuquerque? The billionaire? You slept in his car?”
I ignored the card for three days. But the rent wouldn’t wait.
I called.
“Albuquerque.”
“It’s Helena… the girl who invaded your car.”
He laughed softly.
“I didn’t think you would call.”
I needed money, not pride.
“Tomorrow.”
The mansion in Lomas de Chapultepec looked like something out of a movie. Three floors, perfect gardens. He stood behind a massive desk, white shirt, sleeves rolled up.
“You didn’t leave.”
“I need money.”
“I like your honesty.”
The salary exceeded anything I had ever earned. When we shook hands, I felt a spark.
And yet, it was only work. Until the day he told me:
“I hired you because you’re exceptional. The rest is other people’s insecurities.”
Two months later, a scholarship offered me a year abroad. I told him.
“If I tried to convince you to stay, I would destroy what I admire most about you.”
On the last night, he confessed:
“I’ve fallen in love with you.”
“So have I,” I whispered.
A year later, back in Mexico. No press, no driver. Just Gabriel.
“For us.”
He knelt down. And this time, my heart said yes forever.
