Many of us have those small compartments above the fridge that we don’t really know the true purpose of 😲 Recently, my mom told me what they’re really for ☺️ I’m sharing the secret with you too 👇👇👇. What is the purpose of the cupboards above the fridge found in many kitchens?
If you have such cabinets, keep reading to find out how to use them.
At first glance, the cupboards above the fridge may seem ineffective. They aren’t spacious enough to hold much, and placing dishes or glasses in them is not very convenient. But what to do with these cupboards?
Here are some practical ideas for those who don’t know the purpose of these storage spaces:
As we mentioned, these cupboards aren’t big enough to store items you use daily. However, they’re perfect for storing appliances you use occasionally: mixers, blenders, waffle makers, etc. Most canned goods have a very long shelf life, so you can store them in this compartment, even if you forget about them for a while.
Or, for example, baked goods you only consume on weekends.
If you have cookbooks you don’t want to see, you can store them in the top cupboard. As with canned goods, this cabinet is perfect for some pantry items.
Small household items, such as paper towels, especially if you buy them in bulk, can be stored in this space.
If you have special occasion items or utensils, it’s a good idea to store them above the fridge.
Be careful when opening and closing these cupboards. If you place items inside, make sure they are not too heavy so you can safely take them out later. And how do you use the compartments above the fridge? Let me know in the comments!
