While studying organic farming and sustainable living, Paula Eden lived in a tiny house on wheels in the countryside.
At the end of her training, she decided to make her dream come true: building her own mini retreat. With a smart design and clever use of space, she created a cozy 13 m² home where everything is within reach.
A Swedish haven in the heart of nature, inspired by tradition
The iconic red of Swedish cottages inspired Paula’s home’s aesthetics. This sketch became the starting point for the construction.
An ecological and ingenious construction
Aware of environmental issues, Paula prioritized natural and reclaimed materials, avoiding plastic and aluminum. She built her house on the chassis of an old trailer, with the help of her father, a cabinetmaker, and other tiny house enthusiasts.
Unlike traditional tiny house designs, she put aesthetics first, even before functionality.
Her little haven eventually found its place in the Småland countryside, surrounded by forests and lakes.
An interior in harmony with nature
Once the structure was complete, Paula focused on decorating: earthy green tones painted with linseed-based paint, and traditional Swedish wallpaper. Her choice of colors and textures aims to extend the connection with the surrounding landscape.
Inside, everything is designed for simplicity: a cozy sitting area, a table, and chairs.
Self-sufficient and off-grid, she uses a wood stove for cooking and heating, collects rainwater for laundry, and gets drinking water from a nearby farm. Solar panels provide lighting and power for her devices.
A clever storage space was created under the ceiling, while the sleeping area is in a small loft.
This unique tiny house, a result of Paula’s talent and passion, never fails to impress.
