Turning an old refrigerator into something unexpected and useful
First step: completely empty the inside, keeping only the frame and the door. Remove the freezer section and cut an opening to allow air circulation.
Then, drill a hole at the bottom of the fridge and remove all the insulating materials from the walls.
Adding a glass panel
Don’t remove the door entirely! Instead, cut out a section and insert a glass panel.
Secure it tightly to prevent movement. Use a foam seal around the edges and lightly heat it with a torch for better adhesion.
Installing a metal mesh
Final step: cover all openings with a fine metal mesh. This allows air to circulate for drying while keeping insects out.
