🌿✨ Some objects seem to have fulfilled their purpose… yet they still hold surprises. That’s exactly what happened to me when I looked at my daughter’s crib. It was there, unused, but I just couldn’t part with it.
Then, an idea struck me. What if I gave it a new life?
A little imagination, some adjustments, and a few brushstrokes later… it transformed into something completely different. A unique piece of furniture, warm and full of history.
The result? It won over the entire family… ️⬇️⬇️
What You’ll Need:
- A crib
- Sandpaper
- Weather-resistant paint
- Outdoor fabric
Here’s how I did it.
I dismantled and sanded each part, removed one side of the crib, and then reassembled the structure, adjusting the height for a comfortable seat. A coat of paint (Alpine Morning color), custom cushions in special garden fabric, and it was done!
After two years…
Exposed to full sunlight all day, the paint has held up well. A little touch-up is planned this year. The cushions have lost a bit of their brightness, but that’s actually better: they were almost too bright originally.
And most importantly… this bench has become a staple in our home! Two adults and a cat can sit on it without issue. In the morning, my parents enjoy their coffee there in the sun. The cats lounge on it. And in the evening, we all gather there, serenaded by the sound of birdsong.
It’s a simple, inexpensive project that will last us a third summer. So why not give it a try? Dare to transform, dare to create!
