However, last July, their daughter Hazel made a rare public appearance with her father at the Cannes Film Festival in France, for the premiere of the film Flag Day. Danny Moder was the cinematographer for the film, which was directed by Sean Penn.
Although Penn’s children appear in the movie, Hazel was not in the cast. She was simply there to support her father, and her presence quickly captured public attention.
