Usually kept away from the public eye, Hazel Moder made a spectacular appearance alongside her father.
Julia Roberts and her husband Danny Moder do everything they can to protect their children’s privacy and keep them out of the spotlight. That’s why it’s rare to see them at public events or on social media.
However, last July, their daughter Hazel made a rare public appearance with her father at the Cannes Film Festival in France, for the premiere of the film Flag Day. Danny Moder was the cinematographer for the film, which was directed by Sean Penn.
Although Penn’s children appear in the movie, Hazel was not in the cast. She was simply there to support her father, and her presence quickly captured public attention. Many were captivated by her beauty, with some saying she looked just like her famous mother, while others thought she resembled her father more. With her blue eyes and blonde hair, it’s no surprise she fascinated everyone.
For the occasion, Hazel wore a pale yellow lace dress and classic black ballet flats. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail, and she opted for minimal makeup. She looked elegant and confident. Her father, Danny, seemed very proud to have her by his side all evening.
As for whether Hazel or her siblings will pursue a career in film, only time will tell. The young girl’s parents are very private about their family life and prefer to keep their children away from media attention. Julia Roberts has always been known for her simplicity, despite her Hollywood star status.
In 2016, Hazel and her siblings appeared in Julia’s film Mother’s Day. Then, during a 2018 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Julia shared a few thoughts about her children. She said, “I don’t think they will ever truly grasp my fame. I once told them, ‘Some people might know me because of the movies I’ve done.’”
She also spoke about the challenges of raising kids in today’s world: “When I was a teenager, I might have told my mom, ‘You don’t know what it’s like,’ but she probably did. I just say to my kids: I don’t know either. For now, I’m saying no and I’m finding out.”
Julia and Danny come across as thoughtful parents who always put their children’s well-being first, even if that means staying out of the spotlight.
