Abandoned, worn out, marked by time… This dresser belonged to my dear grandmother. It carried years of memories before ending up forgotten in a basement. There was no way my husband and I could let it fade into oblivion! ❤️
So, we rolled up our sleeves and took on an ambitious mission: bringing it back to life. Sanding, painting, finishing touches… This project required time, patience, and a good dose of creativity. This dresser had seen better days. Cracked, discolored, and on the verge of being forgotten forever. Yet, we saw incredible potential in it.
We started with the most essential step: removing the old paint and varnish. My husband handled this meticulous task while I supervised… with a coffee in hand!
Then came the sanding process. It took several rounds to achieve a perfectly smooth surface, ready for its transformation.
Choosing the right color was a real challenge. After multiple tests, we finally settled on a soft, refined green that enhances every detail of the piece. But we didn’t stop there!
To give it even more character, I added hand-painted patterns—a delicate touch that changed everything.
Another dilemma: should we keep the original handles or replace them? In the end, we decided to preserve my grandmother’s handles as a tribute to her story and the dresser’s unique charm.
And then… the long-awaited moment: the final reveal. We placed the dresser under natural light, and that’s when the magic happened. It was unrecognizable—elegant, radiant. A true interior gem!
