Brilliant Luke Thill is just thirteen years old, and he’s no ordinary teenager. While most kids his age think about their school crushes or sports practices, Luke is busy accomplishing something remarkable.
For the price of an iPhone, Luke, who is from Iowa, built his dream house in his backyard!
It took him about a year to gather all the financial resources and materials he needed for the construction. To do this, he had to mow lawns, organize fundraising events, and do whatever he could to raise the funds, like a true entrepreneur!
He also received help from a man whose garage he helped clean out in exchange for electricity. A determined young man!
What’s truly interesting is that Luke’s house is made of 75% recycled materials and items salvaged from his grandmother. The front door was a gift from his uncle. You can discover everything on his YouTube channel, where he shares his amazing project and his dream of building a house.
After carefully thinking, planning, and researching, Luke brought his project to life. His house is about 8 square meters, 3 meters long, and 1.5 meters wide. It has electricity but no plumbing yet—no shower or sink for now.

This house is every teenager’s dream: a personal space to be alone. It has a microwave, a TV, and even a loft bed. And at the back, there’s also a barbecue!
