Transforming a Studio into a Modern, Functional Apartment
Here’s an inspiring renovation example: how a simple studio was redesigned into a modern and cozy home.
The owner, Paul, made major changes. He divided the single room to create a kitchen-living area, making the space feel more open and spacious.
Look at this photo—it’s the exact same place as before. Impressive, right?
At night, small ceiling lights cast a soft and cozy glow. A mirror on the wall reflects the light, making the room feel even bigger.
A Modern Kitchen and a Brilliant Idea
The kitchen was completely redesigned in a sleek, modern style:
• White cabinets and a matching backsplash for a clean and bright look
• Black accents on the furniture, adding a chic and balanced touch
Paul confirmed that relocating the kitchen was allowed, as long as the space below wasn’t another apartment. A constraint well managed!
An unused corner was optimized into a workspace—perfect for a computer desk.
What About Adding a Bedroom?
By reorganizing the kitchen, a real bedroom was created—an ingenious solution!
Small but incredibly cozy, it even has a bedside table. The clever detail? A decorative ladder mounted on the wall… which also serves as a clothing rack.
Bathroom and Entryway: Smart Transformations
The old bathtub was replaced with a modern shower, and the washing machine was seamlessly integrated into the space.
In the entryway, a large mirror and white walls create an impression of spaciousness and brightness.
A small closet was also added—perfect for storing clothes, an iron, and other everyday essentials. Practical and discreet!
Right next to it, a simple yet effective coat rack welcomes jackets at the entrance.
A Floor Plan to Visualize the Optimization
Finally, a floor plan of the apartment shows how the spaces were reorganized. Everything fits perfectly within 30 m², without ever feeling cramped.
