When my mother, Martha, entered the room, I immediately felt uneasy. Her face was pale, and her usual elegance was overshadowed by worry. She approached with a fragile smile, but I chose to ignore my premonition. After all, it was my wedding. My mother had always been my pillar. I refused to let anything tarnish this moment.
