For a long time, Australian Jennifer Jones thought her kitchen needed renovations. But due to a lack of funds and uncertainty about what exactly needed changing, she decided not to tackle the project.
Eventually, after a long discussion with her husband, she chose to at least refresh the room. It took over sixty days, but the impressive results were well worth the money, time, and effort invested by the small Jones family.
The once wooden-glazed cabinets are now a milky white. In contrast, the kitchen countertop is now painted wood enamel, creating a beautiful contrast with the walls, ceiling, and floor.
According to Jennifer’s own words in an interview, she made many mistakes during the restoration. For example, she and her partner spent too much time and effort removing paint stains from the kitchen. But later, the couple used a lot of smarts. She applied a primer on the cabinets, then painted them with two coats for a perfect color reproduction.
Finally, Jenn took care of selecting the kitchen fixtures. She convinced her husband to replace the taps, sink, and lower part of the countertop – the old plan didn’t match the new color and was in poor condition.
To this day, Jones still believes she found the right color combination. It’s hard to argue. On one hand, it successfully matches all the items and appliances kept, including the faucet and metal sink. On the other hand, the colors recall the popular Nordic style traditions currently in vogue.
In total, the young couple invested around 2,000 USD in their kitchen. For such a modest price, it would be impossible to buy even a new helmet – good helmets sell starting from 1,700 AU dollars.
