The Monarch Butterfly is one of the most beautiful insects in the world.
It lives from two weeks to five months, but in this instance, life could have become shorter at times, if not for unexpected help.
The butterfly was lucky to be born in the garden of Romy McCloskey, a professional seamstress and fashion designer.
“I have always liked butterflies, and for some time they began to mean a lot to me. My mother, who died 20 years ago, told me before her death: “Romy, whenever you see a butterfly, know that I am there, and I love you,”” says Romy.
One day, she discovered three butterfly caterpillars in the bushes in her yard.
Romy was watching them and therefore noticed in time that one of the butterflies needed help.
The Monarch’s wing came off – and the woman realized that she could help her.
Romi armed herself with a napkin, wire, glue, toothpick, cotton buds, tweezers, talcum powder, and a piece of wing from another butterfly that died a few days ago.
Having fixed the insect with a wire, she skillfully sewed on the wing – so that it is now difficult to even notice the seam.
Romy emphasizes that the butterfly was not hurt: the wings for them are like nails or hair for a human, they do not have pain receptors. But now she can fly again.
