Why do I put a glass of salt in each room? š¤ A cleaning lady revealed a simple trick to me⦠and yet itās incredibly effective! š§āØ Youāll be surprised by its benefits! š²š
One day, I was sitting in the waiting room of a hospital. Everything was quiet when suddenly, I heard a āpsst.ā Of course, I immediately noticed it, looked around, but saw nothing suspicious.
After a few seconds, I heard the āpsstā sound again. It was strange. I glanced around again and noticed there was an automatic air freshener on the cabinet, which occasionally released a dose of āscent.ā My very first reaction, I must admit, was to turn it off ā that smell was very synthetic, and a hospital isnāt the right place for the type of fragrance used.
I remembered a short stay in a sanatorium with my son a few years ago. You know what struck me the most? The pleasant smell of plants that always greeted us in the room. In comparison, the air freshener had a rather unpleasant odor. Of course, I immediately wanted to know what the secret was. It turned out to be much simpler than I thought.
I then noticed a curious detail: on the dresser near the entrance, there was a vase half-filled with coarse sea salt. And thatās when the mystery beganā¦
The Mystery of Salt
The maid explained that this sanatorium uses aromatherapy. As a result, special attention is paid to the atmosphere of the rooms. Before dusting, she shook the vase filled with salt to mix it well, then added a few drops of plant extracts. She didnāt know the exact composition of the extract; it was like a āsecret recipe.ā But a faint mint scent was noticeable in the room.
It turned out that the salt wasnāt there by chance, but was absorbing the scents and releasing them gradually into the air. Moreover, sea salt itself is a great odor absorber, so even the faint scent lasts much longer. This was new to me, so I decided to try it.
When I got home, I immediately wanted to test this method. Of course, I couldnāt find a suitable vase, so I used simple yogurt jars. I placed one on the shelf, one in the hallway with my shoes, and the third in the linen closet.
I poured sea salt into each glass (you can use regular table salt if you donāt have sea salt), added 7 to 8 drops of essential oil, and mixed it all. I first chose mint and lemon, then changed the scent depending on my mood. From time to time, I add lavender ā itās perfect for relaxing before bed.
I shake the salt every two or three days to āwake upā the scent. Following the maidās advice, I also pour a few drops of essential oil into the sink before going to bed. I can tell you it works really well ā a subtle and discreet fragrance floats throughout the bathroom.
The salt in the doorframe has now become part of my daily ritual. It may sound funny, but when I push open the door and am greeted by a pleasant scent, I immediately feel at home. Some may find this strange, but I recommend everyone try it. Plus, itās not expensive at all and easy to implement. And most importantly, no chemicals ā just natural essential oils.
