A new online service gives children the opportunity to become designers of their own clothes and turn their drawings into real dresses.
This idea came to the mind of Jamie Newberry – a professional designer, entrepreneur and, in combination, the mother of two daughters.
Jamie described the origins of Picture This Clothing in a post: “Once during the winter break, I made a dress for my daughter Zia from her own design. Zia fell in love with it, and began to tell everyone that she “carries her imagination!” The dress was a real hit with Zia’s friends and classmates, as well as their parents, who all wanted to ‘wear their imagination’ too.”
As a result, Jamie decided to turn her idea into a business.
It works like this: parents choose the size of the dress on the site and print out the samples presented there.
Then the children color and decorate the samples to their liking. And adults upload photos of the resulting dresses to the site and leave an application.
Within a few weeks, the finished dress arrives to the customer.
Now the service is in the testing phase. Orders are accepted only for dresses. But Jamie and her business colleagues are planning other clothes – T-shirts, skirts, trousers, etc.
