Restaurant owner Paul Dabill noted that he was looking for mullet fish, but he saw this impressive process.

“I was looking for a mullet. This time of year is a period of migration. On this day it was not. However, I found a fish of the crevalle jack species,” recalled Paul Dabill.

“I immediately recognized their heart shape when I first saw them. They kept this form for a few seconds before changing into other forms,” added Paul Dabill.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the crevalle jack is a predatory fish that spends most of its life hunting on fewer fish species.

There are individuals in the school that dominate, control the hunting process and manage the school.

With this tactic, big fish act as hunters, and small ones work as beaters.

As a result, the prey has no chance to escape.
