When Jodi Chamlee rescued Gucci and took her home, she promised the dog that she would never suffer again in her life.
But during the move from Georgia to Tennessee, the family lost the pet.
For four years, the inconsolable owners searched for Gucci and finally found her in Philadelphia.
The dog was discovered by Marvin and Jessica Graaf of the Animal Care and Control Service.
The couple spotted a homeless pit bull that was in very poor condition and decided to take her to a veterinary clinic.
Four years on the street, Gucci was badly beaten – the dog developed arthritis, an ear and skin infection.
To track down the owners, the service staff madr a post about the dog in their Facebook group, and it soon reached Jody.
The woman spent more than two hours on the phone, trying to prove that the found dog is her missing Gucci, and then, together with her husband and two daughters, went to Philadelphia.
“I couldn’t wait any longer,” says Jody. – I could not bear the very thought that Gucci was there all alone waiting for her “mother”.
The meeting turned out to be very touching.
No one could hold back their tears as they looked at Jody and Gucci, who had found each other again after so many years apart.
According to the woman, she never lost hope that Gucci would be found.
She spent four years looking for a dog, making requests to rescue services and posting about the pet online.
“When I brought Gucci home, I promised her that she would never suffer again, but I only fulfilled half of that promise,” Jody says. “Our family is finally reunited. Without Gucci, it was incomplete.”
