The dog was trapped. She spent three days without food and water before rescuers reached her.
Now Bubbles is wagging her tail again, but three weeks ago she had no reason to be happy. The adorable pit bull was lying, crushed by the barn.
She could not move, could not get out of the trap, and could not call for help. She was lucky: a neighbor noticed the immobilized and exhausted dog.
He called the rescuers and asked for help. The man was afraid to touch the rubble on his own, so as not to make it worse.
But how did Bubbles end up in this trap? This is another consequence of Hurricane Ida.
As soon as they received the call, the task force went to the scene – to find the collapsed barn and the unfortunate dog, which did not even have the strength to rejoice at the arrival of rescuers.
The police and rescuers worked together. They carefully dismantled the barn and found the reason why the dog did not try to escape.
She was chained near the barn, and this chain got entangled in the debris so that the dog could not get out. It’s good that she could even breathe!
The work was not easy, but Bubbles did not make things worse for the rescuers. She did not try to bite them and did not resist at all.
It seemed that all the will to live had come out of her. But, as soon as she got free, you would not recognize this dog!
She smiled, twisted her tail, and seemed ready to kiss every policeman.
After she was rescued, Bubbles was sent to a shelter in Louisiana where volunteers and a veterinarian would take care of her.
She will have a long physical shape recovery, a careful examination and treatment, if necessary. Meanwhile, the police are looking for Bubbles’ owner.
The reasons for the search are not hard to guess: he is likely to be charged with cruelty to animals.
And when all the formalities are settled, they will start looking for a new loving home for Bubbles.
