A mother’s pure and unconditional love knows no boundaries. Animal world has proved so many times, that they are able to be very caring, protective and loving mothers.
This gentle relationship between a dog and an orphaned baby squirrel is a bright example of it.
Everly is a gentle and friendly Pitbull, and the little squirrel by chosen her as an adoptive mother hasn’t mistaken.
The dog’s maternal instinct started to surfaced when she met a baby squirrel.
And this mild and caring nature couldn’t reject such a little, adorable creature in need of help.
Unfortunately, there is a misconception about Pitbull’s aggressive behavior, in fact, they are very friendly and caring souls, who deserve people’s love and attention.
By the way, these breed was called as nanny dogs during 19th century, as they were kind, loyal and protective dogs accompanying the children.
One day, when Everly and her owner, Groves, were going for a walk, they encountered a little squirrel all alone. Apparently, he was abandoned by his mother or has been lost.
The poor squirrel started to follow the dog, he, obviously, was fascinated by the gentle Pitbull. A special bond arose between these animals right there, on the street, from the first meeting.
So, the charming squirrel followed his new friend home. When they arrived, Everly laid down to have a rest, and the squirrel, without having fear, climbed on top of her friend and took a nap.
From that moment on, Everly became an adoptive mother for the orphaned squirrel.
Though, the Pitbull was a very caring foster mom for the baby squirrel, and their relationship was incredible, anyway, squirrel still was a wild animal.
There were some difficulties in caring him at home, so Groves decided to give the squirrel to the wildlife center.
It was hard to separate these wonderful duo, but Everly had to say goodbye to her little friend, who will join to his two squirrel friends at the center. When the trio grew up, they will be released to the wild.
