Of course, people don’t always speak highly of the police.
But it is worth considering the human factor. Indeed, in other professions, we often encounter dubious specialists. And good people are everywhere!
So, most recently, a Florida resident, Tianna, witnessed the actions of a policewoman that touched her heart.
Last week, an Ocala resident who parked her car in a parking lot near Dunkin’ Donuts noticed a police officer sitting on the curb near the gas station.
She sat not alone, but with a homeless person.
As Tianna later learned, Sergeant Erica Hay took a little time out that morning to buy food for a homeless man.
“I was on my way to the café for breakfast when I saw this man sitting alone. So I decided to buy breakfast for him too.”
But Hay did not just give the package to the person in need, but also decided to share the meal with him.
Tianna was so moved by what was happening that she immediately took a few pictures and posted them on Facebook. And then the department itself, where Erica serves, shared this story.
“I was the only person who could testify to her kindness at that early hour,” writes Tianna.
During the day, the story appeared on various resources and collected hundreds of responses. And the humble Sergeant Erica Hay was genuinely surprised by the attention from social networks and the media.
Erica says that she does not see anything special in this situation. Because day after day in her life, there are people who require help.
And Sergeant Hay said: “That homeless man turned out to be a very good person who had to endure sad events. He is no worse than others. Just by the will of fate, he ended up on the street.”
