19-year-old Claire Mack from Chicago shared interesting news with her followers on TikTok. Because the world changed for her when she went to the doctor.
The girl suffered from a cough for almost three months, but she was treated at home on her own – she gargled her throat, drank syrups and teas. But recently she decided to go to the doctor and check what kind of cough it is for such a long time.
The doctor decided that Mack had a lung infеction and needed a chest x-ray. What the x-ray showed surprised the girl: her heart was located on the other side, not like most people, but on the right.
“The doctor explained that my anomaly is called dextrocardia, and I should report it to my doctor,” the girl says.
The girl was shocked and did not understand why she found out about it only at the age of 19.
Dextrocardia is a rare anomaly in the development of the heart, when most of the organ is not on the left side of the chest, but on the right.
Less than 1% of people are born with this arrangement of the heart, and as a rule, it is not life-threatening.
The girl said that she had never done a chest x-ray, so she only now found out where her heart was.
But the followers cannot understand how she lived with it and did not notice this serious anomaly.
