Either they get there accidentally while searching for food or they are intentionally thrown away by cruel people.
And these drivers are always there to save them.
For example, this man, who rescued a dog that ended up in his garbage truck.
The dog escaped death thanks to this man’s attentiveness and keen eye.
The Capital Area Human Society in Michigan reports that a Granger Waste Services’ employee was on his way in his truck when he understood that there is something unexpected in his truck.
It was a small white dog.
They don’t know exactly how she ended up in the garbage chute, but the path led to commercial-grade trash cans, which means the dog had to go through a lot before she was found.
It seems unbelievable that she survived being transferred from a dumpster to a garbage truck and then survived the trip and the process of unloading.
The dog had quite an ordeal, but it could be much worse if the driver didn’t notice her.
She would definitely end up in the trash compactor, which is a horrible fate.
Fortunately, the dog is fine now. There is a cruelty investigation still going on, so for the moment the dog can’t be adopted. She is in protective custody.
The driver was claimed as a hero by a lot of people.
The humane society says that they have many surprising requests about him. They also joke that for those who show interest in the employee, he is not available for adoption either.
