Elephants are very loving animals with high intellect and good memory. Though giant, but they are very gentle creatures, who are sensitive, compassionate and selfless.
Elephant mothers are very caring and overprotective. The kindness and the ability to comfort and understand the pain of those in need is incredible.
Here is a wonderful footage, which proves that the kindness of these amazing animals is limitless.
Meet Dok Gaew, a one year and 9 months old baby elephant, who was saved by the Elephant Nature Park volunteers. The poor calf was orphaned and found in the wild all alone.
The helpless creature would not survive in the wild without his mother or family. So he was taken to the rehabilitation center.
Dok was confused and frightened. As elephants are very sociable creatures, they need to live with their herd to interact with other elephants, which help them to overcome their loneliness or other difficulties.
So, the staff of ENP had doubt how the herd will accept him, how they will react meeting the orphaned baby elephant. But they pleasantly surprised to see the warm welcome of the herd.
When the herd heard Dok’s calling, the entire herd run quickly to greet him. Dok was in an enclosure, but it wasn’t a hinder to try to reach the new member of their big family.
The elephants were pushing their trunks through the openings, trying to touch Dok. In this way they showed their kindness and gladness to see him. As if they wanted to say, that he is not alone.
Friendly elephants comforted the baby Dok expressing their care and love to him.
Watch the touching moment of the herd’s warm greeting here, which will, surely, brighten your day:
