Drew Barrymore’s youth, despite his early popularity, can hardly be called happy: difficult relationships with divorced parents, rehab, and even running away from home – which the future superstar has not experienced.
But now Drew is a successful actress, UN ambassador, and mother of two daughters, 10-year-old Olive and 8-year-old Frankie. Barrymore is a rather strict mother: it turned out that the actress does not give her girls gifts for the main holiday of the year.
Before Christmas, parents are thinking what to put under the Christmas tree for their heirs. But not Drew.
“I don’t give kids gifts at Christmas,” the actress admitted in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“Instead, when I’m on vacation, I always take them with me on trips. I tell them: we will remember this place, we will have photos and a lot of impressions – this is what I want to give you.”
“During the year, I buy them different things, so I’m not some strange, strict, cold mother who tells the children: “no gifts for you!”. I just feel like the best gift would be our shared memories. I’d rather put it in them. And the girls will get some kind of dollhouse in May,” added Barrymore.
Recall that the star gave birth to daughters in marriage to art consultant Will Kopelman, the son of former Chanel director Ari Kopelman.
They started dating in 2011 and got married in 2012. The marriage lasted only four years.
Barrymore filed for divorce in 2016. Now the actress has a new romance, but she keeps the name of the chosen one a secret.
