The little raccoon was left without a mother early.
Not knowing how to survive in the wild, she went out to the people who became her forever family.
Katie Fusсaldo first saw Rockette when she was barely a week old.
An orphaned raccoon wandered into the yard to a family friend, and he brought it to Katie.
The woman replaced her mother: she fed her from a bottle, bathed her, took her for vaccinations.
Katie did not plan to leave Rockette at home, and as soon as she grew up and gained weight, she released her into the wild.
But her favorite did not go far and settled a stone’s throw from home.
Rockette, who is already six months old, visits her family every day and amuses them with her tricks.
When she gets tired of socializing, she goes for a walk and climbs trees, but then comes back to play with Katie’s toys and other pets.
She considers dogs “her gang” and fights them fearlessly on the carpet in the living room.
Sometimes Rockette stays overnight and falls asleep next to Katie with a bottle in her hands.
According to the woman, she would like a happy life for the raccoon in her habitat.
But if Rockette decided to stay with people, she is only glad, although she is mentally prepared for the fact that one day she may not return.
“We have a great relationship! She needed me as a mother. And I took this unique opportunity to go out and raise this wonderful creature,” says Katie.
“Before I met her, I had no idea how smart and cute raccoons can be.”
