Kola joey Phantom and his mother Lizzy were hit by a car, on one of the roads in Australia.
After the car accident, fortunately, baby kola was not harmed, but his mom got bad injuries.
The volunteers group acted very quickly, they saved both mom and joey and transferred them to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital.
Mom koala was in a crucial condition. Investigations showed that Lizzy had lung and facial traumas and needed an undergoing surgery.
And what happened during the life-saving surgery melted everyone’s heart at the hospital. The six-month-old baby
hugging his mother, stayed all the time by his mom’s side.
The vet knew if they separate them, the baby koala will be in stress, so they decided to leave him be with his mom, even during all other procedures and treatment.

Lizzy recovers very quickly, and soon she will be able to hug her joey by herself.
