Cisco doesn’t really look like a real city. This is a scattering of abandoned, dilapidated houses, from the windows of which the majestic mountains of La Sal are visible. Eileen saw the town by chance when she was driving by – a price tag hung on one of the houses.

“It seems to be the only house in the entire country that fits my budget,” Eileen thought.

Indeed, the nominal owner of Cisco was only too glad to get rid of illiquid real estate in the middle of the desert. For the first year, the woman had to stay in a trailer while renovating a nearby hut.

And a couple of years later, Eileen’s story was written in several magazines, tourists learned about the abandoned city.

They come from time to time to look at the hermit, so that the woman also manages to earn on her own city.

Living in a secluded place is not for everyone. However, for some, the absence of people is rather a definite plus.

    I would absolutely love to be able to do this for myself personally because I hate living in the city or even near the city and I don’t care about that many people anyways
