In 2016, Amanda quit her job and doctors diagnosed her with depression.
Then the woman decided to have a pet, hoping that it would give impetus to her life.
She saw a small black and white cat on an ad site.
Amanda spent an hour traveling one way to pick up her four-legged friend, whom she named Cookie.
The woman was convinced that the cat was rid of parasites and helped to cope with dehydration, but this was not true.
After 2 days, she had to urgently take Cookie to the vet, which discovered severe dehydration and a full stomach of worms.
Amanda could not put the cat in the hospital, because she did not have enough money for this.
Therefore, the woman decided to take care of the baby herself.
Pills for worms could not be given to Cookie, because the cat had too little weight and a weak immunity.
To help her gain weight, Amanda made homemade pies from boiled chicken and fish.
Every 6 hours, a pill was shoved down the kitten’s throat. In addition, there was constant bathing.
When the kitten finally got rid of the worms, she got an infection.
Amanda fought for Cookie’s life for several months.
Having gone a long way of rehabilitation, now she is a healthy and active pet.
Amanda recalled that she had days when she could not get out of bed due to despair.
However, then a four-legged one resorted to her and was constantly there, supporting her.
“Cookie was born a month before I had a serious breakdown. I feel that perhaps we should have found each other. We saved each other,” said Amanda.
