Family is the most precious thing we have. A definition for a family is very simple: a group of two or more people related by birth.
But some inevitable circumstances, sometimes, can change this definition. A family, whose members belong to different species. Just this is the case for our hero of this story.
Meet Fred, an adorable labrador, living with his big family at Mountfitchet Castle. The humans of this kind dog are Jo and Jeremy, who are animal lovers, and adopted many rescued animals.
So, Fred was like a big brother for all those animals, who had difficult and tough past. He was always next to them, helping them and guarding them.
One day, nine little ducklings were found nearby the castle, who were wandering alone, without their mother.
That was very strange, so the castle staff started to look for the ducklings’ mom in the surroundings.
The searching gave no result, so the staff came into conclusion, that she, perhaps, has been a prey for a fox.
Having a fear that the little creatures could have the same fate, they took them into their big family.
The day Fred met first the ducklings, he showed a special behavior to them. He started to take care of them, taking them under his paw.
Whenever dog goes, the ducklings follow him, they think, he is their dad.
They not only sleep and eat together, but also swim in the nearby pond together.
Fred helped the little ducklings to overcome the pain of loss of their mom.
Their unique bond proved that a family can be built on a pure and unconditional love and comfort and compassion.
