This unique Eleanor pig can often be found on mountain hikes with other animals.
Everyone in the American town of Nyack knows this company: 2 goats, 2 dogs and a spotted pig.
The pig’s full name is Eleanor Pigby. Her owner works with children in a therapeutic boarding school.
And animals help with this.
35-year-old Anna Sicari owns 2 dogs: a boxer and a goldendoodle, 2 goats and a pig named Eleanor.
In the small town of Nyack in New York State, everyone knows these animals.
When they walk down the street, the postman, people who take out the garbage, motorists and passers-by greet them.
Everyone stops and wants to exchange a few words and pet the animals.
“Eleanor grunts and oinks all the way in the street,” Anna laughs.
Pig Eleanor is now 7 months old. Now she weighs 80 pounds, but it can even grow up to 300!
The animal loves to go hiking with children. Anna Sicari works at Summit Therapy School.
The woman began to take the schoolchildren on hikes 4 years ago.
“Who doesn’t want to go hiking with a pig? She is the queen of the school. Everyone loves her,” – says Anna.
Eleanor Pigby approaches people for a treat and lies on her back for them to scratch her stomach.
At first, they tried to walk the pig on a leash along the city streets. But she didn’t like it – it turned out that the animal hates sidewalks.
After that, Eleanor was taken on a hike to the nearest mountain – and the pig liked it.
Since then, she follows people through the mountains and forests, jumps from stone to stone and quickly runs down.
Eleanor attends not only the school where she works. Recently, the pig was taken to a nursing home to please its residents.
