Bobby Humphreys is a competitive bodybuilder. He doesn’t like small dogs.
According to the man, he is actually a big animal lover, and he prefers big dogs.
Humphreys has small dogs at home, which he did not like very much, but his wife liked them.
However, Humphreys’ opinion has completely changed.
A week after his wedding, the man suffered a shoulder injury in training and required surgery.
Following the injury, Humphreys became depressed.
As the bodybuilder’s shoulder recovered, he tried to get out of the throes, but the depression turned out to be stronger, and he did not succeed.
It seemed to Humphreys that everything was bad until a friend called him and said: “Do you mind if my Lady (dog) stays with you for a while?”
Humphreys heard about his friend’s pet and didn’t even want to meet it, but this time he had to.
The man wanted to thank his friend for his support during difficult days and adopted the dog for a while.
One day, Humphreys came home from work and saw the pet sitting in its place under the TV.
After about 15 minutes, his wife decided to see what her husband was doing, and was stunned to see that the little dog was already in his arms.
Within a few months, the bodybuilder and the little dog became best friends.
“She didn’t change my mind, she changed my life,” Humphreys says of the dog.
“She gave me back my self-esteem. After everything that happened to me: shame, loss of motivation and everything else, the dog brought me back to life and made me understand, I’m not such a bad person after all.”
There were days when the man could not get out of bed, because he was simply too lazy.
In such situations, the pet helped, spending time with which was great.
Sometimes the owner of the dog, the friend of the bodybuilder, came to check on his pet.
Often he would find Humphreys lying on the bed with the dogs.
The man began to think about getting his own pet.
After all, the friend’s dog will not be with him forever, but he has already managed to become attached to the animal.
Humphreys was not particularly picky about breeds.
He just wanted someone similar to his current pet.
The bodybuilder managed to find a one-year-old Chihuahua named Kira.
She almost looked like the friend’s dog in color.
Other pets followed: Harley and Quinn.
Humphreys began to raise and educate his own pets.
He swore to himself that he would not let his pets experience cruelty. The man will love them no matter what.
So, Humphreys began to take animals that no one wants to “adopt”.
He really wants to prove that any pet deserves affection, love and respect.
