Shanghai resident Yu Jianxia became the world record holder for the second time in a row.
The thing is that this woman has the longest natural eyelashes. Her name has been in the Guinness Book of Records since 2016.
Only five years ago, the maximum length of her eyelashes (by the way, they are longer on the left eyelid than on the right) was 12.4 cm, and in 2021 it was already 20.5 cm. That is, she broke the world record twice.
The story of Jianxia is truly amazing. She was not always the owner of such long eyelashes. Previously, they were quite ordinary, like other people.
Yu Jianxia noticed that her eyelashes began to grow after she spent 18 months in the mountains. It happened in 2013. For more than a year she lived in the bosom of nature, meditating and relaxing from the noisy metropolis.
“Suddenly, I realized that my eyelashes were starting to grow. They got longer and longer. I was very surprised and visited many doctors to find out the reason for such a strange phenomenon. The doctors couldn’t say anything about it. They just threw up their hands. I tried to find some scientific explanation for this: for example, maybe it’s in the genes? However, no one in my family has such long eyelashes.”
Jianxia calls her eyelashes a real miracle. She also said that eyelashes do not interfere with her everyday life, on the contrary, she does not need to stand in front of a mirror for half an hour to apply mascara. Her eyelashes, when properly styled, become part of the image.
“My eyelashes do not give me any worries or difficulties. On the contrary, only joy from how unique I am. Because I have natural lashes, it’s easy for me to wash my face and apply cream. My eyelashes, like everyone else’s, also fall out, but they grow back. I don’t see any problems at all. The only thing I want to wish other people with unique beauty is love yourself, admire yourself. You are a miracle.”
