Kensington Palace had previously communicated her hospitalization for scheduled surgery on January 17, 2024. The operation was deemed successful, and it was anticipated that she would remain in the hospital for up to two weeks before continuing her recovery at home.
Princess Catherine made the announcement of her cancer diagnosis independently, without the presence of Prince William by her side. This marks a significant departure from traditional royal protocols. Opting for direct communication with the public, Catherine bypassed the customary method of issuing press releases.
Instead, she conveyed a sincere message through a video posted on her and her husband’s Instagram account on March 22, 2024. In the video, she openly discussed the challenges her family has faced in recent months and commended the exceptional care provided by her medical team.
