Carmen and Lupita were born in Mexico and currently live in the US.
They were born fused in the abdomen, and the doctors did not give the girls’ parents a favorable prognosis. Fortunately, the prophecies of experts that the twins would not live up to a year did not come true.
In 2023, the Siamese twins celebrated their 22nd birthday.
Modern medicine has many unique possibilities, and doctors have repeatedly offered Carmen and Lupita an operation to separate their bodies. The girls do not agree, as they are afraid of consequences.
And it cannot be said that the life of Carmen and Lupita consists of only restrictions. For example, one of the sisters drives a car freely, and the other is dating a young man who has already asked her to marry.
In addition, both girls decided to become veterinarians and are preparing to start training in this specialty.
One of the main difficulties that special sisters had to face was the selection of clothes. But this problem has already been solved, the tailor neighbor offered Lupita and Carmen to sew custom-made outfits for them.
In terms of psychic connection, the girls say they often feel each other’s emotions.
Carmen and Lupita decided to share their story in hopes of helping other Siamese twins.
“Many people look askance at people with disabilities and violate their boundaries. For example, we are constantly asked about our personal life, how we go to the restroom and so on. But everyone should remember and understand: we are not just Siamese twins, we are people,” says Carmen.
The twins admit that they receive a lot of offensive questions and comments on social networks, but they try not to pay attention to them and learn to see only the good in life.
