Melissa McCabe, 16, graduated from high school in the summer of 2022.
It is customary to come to the prom with a young man, and Melissa decided to choose her one and a half year old son Arthur for this role.
According to Melissa, she wanted her son to become part of the most solemn day of her life.
The girl bought the child a suit with a jacket and a bow tie – and came with her son to the graduation.
According to Melissa, she and Arthur became a real sensation and were in the center of everyone’s attention – everyone, including teachers, was touched by a wonderful boy, wanted to hold him in their arms and admired how amazing he looks in a suit.
Teachers who had ignored Melissa during their studies now said they were proud of her.
“Arthur really enjoyed his graduation, especially the treats,” Melissa noted.
She posted her prom photos with her son on TikTok with the caption, “Everyone goes to prom with their boyfriends, but I went with my biggest blessing.”
The post went viral, getting over 2 million views.
Melissa gave birth to Arthur in November 2020 when she was just 15 years old and is raising him alone.
It is very difficult for her, but she does not give up.
According to Melissa, people often mistake Arthur for her little brother, and when they find out that this is a girl’s child, they begin to judge.
Against all odds, Melissa has successfully passed her exams and plans to start college in September.
