Janelle Tsao took home a tiny and sick toucan to save the animal.
The bird, which was named Touki, turned out to be very capricious.
An exotic bird suffers when it is left alone and there are no people around.
Because of this, Janelle asks her friend to be with the bird when she needs to leave the house.
The woman has not gone on vacation for more than 2 years.
If Touki is left alone, he starts screaming loudly until somebody appears next to him again.
“Touki is a flying child. He is handsome and cheerful, he is always very interested in everything, so he is able to climb anywhere. Yesterday I chopped tomatoes that he should not eat and put them in a bowl with a tight lid. Touki flew to the table, quickly lifted the lid and stole the tomato, then flew up to the second floor and swallowed it instantly before I could get up,” Janelle recalled.
Caring for a toucan requires a lot of time, effort and money.
For example, his diet consists only of fresh fruits, vegetables and berries, which is expensive.
In addition, he goes to the toilet wherever he wants, and he does this every 10 minutes.
“When I saw him, my heart just melted. He was so quiet and shy, sitting in a cage. It’s because he was injured. I immediately made a promise that I would do my best to love him and take care of him,” Janelle remembered.
Such an exotic bird cannot be kept at home, but Touki is already too accustomed to people. This will prevent him from returning safely to the wild.
