The fashion and beauty industry fascinates and terrifies at the same time.
It affects our lives, even if we do not want it. And there is no escape from it. Just like there is no escape from aging.
Beauty and aging have a complicated relationship. But sometimes they go together just fine.
A striking example is the Brazilian Setsuko Saito, better known as Rosa.
She inadvertently challenged preconceived notions about beauty and aging by becoming a model at the age of 68.
Rosa has always had good taste and a sense of beauty, and her childhood was filled with creativity. She was engaged in singing, drawing, and poetry.
However, a career in the arts was out of reach for the young Rosa.
For a long time she took care of her mother, who was bedridden, and then began to raise three children alone.
The woman put all her dreams aside and devoted most of her time to children and gardening.
Years passed, and it seemed that Rosa’s life was unlikely to change dramatically, but one day she was offered to become a model.
“Two times this was done by representatives of the Mega modeling agency and once by a photographer. I thought about their proposals for a year and in the end decided that I needed to try myself as a model,” Rosa recalls.
Although Rosa had little knowledge of the industry in which she was offered a job, this did not stop her.
As a result, she was able to find her calling and has been a successful model for several years. Most often, she participates in shooting for magazines and in fashion shows.
To look good, Rosa is actively involved in sports and pays a lot of attention to skin care. In addition, the woman takes care of her spirituality and mental health, believing that this is also an important part of the beauty of any person.
“Of course, as a woman, I would like to change something in myself. Sometimes we all want it. But still, in my opinion, the packaging is not more important than the content.” Rosa confessed.
Rosa does not like any standards of beauty, both past and present. But she believes that sooner or later in the fashion industry, everything will definitely change for the better.
