Cyril and Erik Rohrer climbed Mount Britsen in Switzerland.
Around 4:30 am, at an altitude of about 4,000 feet above sea level, the guys heard a cat meow in the forest.
At first, this surprised and even frightened them.
Subsequently, a striped kitty ran up to them, which asked for pets and did not leave the hikers.
There were still almost 7,500 feet to the top of the mountain, and the tourists could neither leave the cat to its fate, nor abandon the route.
Therefore, the four-legged went a long way uphill after them. So she reached a height of 10,000 feet above sea level.
“We were definitely confused. I felt very sorry for the cat. She was really exhausted on the ridge under the summit,”
Cyril said.
Kitty was very tired, sometimes Cyril or Eric took her in their arms, or put her on top of their backpacks.
The cat’s paws were bleeding from the frosty cover of the mountain.
In the end, the guys met hikers who were descending onto the plain into the city. They gave the cat to this group.
The owners were already waiting for her. As it turned out, kitty went missing four days ago.
Two days before, she also went with other tour groups to the peak.
That is, the kitty overcame the mountain several times before meeting with the owners.
“Animals do strange things. And they are much tougher than humans. They will never give up. Even though they really hurt,” – summed up one of the guys.
