Oregon has a Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary that contains about 200 animals that need human help.
Among them is a bison named Helen.
She is completely blind – probably from birth.
She was handed over to the rehabilitation center by a farmer who did not want to take care of the “useless” pet.
Helen lived alone, avoiding other animals.
She was even afraid of the blind pig, which, on the contrary, was looking for friends.
It seemed that for the rest of her life Helen would be unhappy and lonely, until Oliver appeared – a bison who was born in Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary in 2016.
He is taken care of by his mother Betsy. But the baby, having begun to explore the territory, met Helen, and since then they have been inseparable.
Helen did not have the opportunity to realize her maternal instinct. And she completely gives herself to Oliver. And he plays with pleasure with his older friend.
It’s interesting that he even changed his coloring from light brown to dark brown. And now he looks like a mini-copy of Helen.
Veterinarians note that the changes in Helen’s behavior are incredible. Now she radiates joy and happiness, is no longer afraid of the rest of the inhabitants of the center and spends time with them.
Betsy, on the other hand, regards Helen as a nanny and sends her baby to “kindergarten”, doing her own business at this time.
