Kristen Stewart expressed uncertainty about the possibility of appearing in a Marvel film, citing concerns that such roles might feel overly formulaic and akin to a nightmare.
In a recent interview with the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast, Kristen Stewart discussed the possibility of starring in a Marvel movie in the near future. She expressed hesitation, stating that she couldn’t see herself committing to something that feels overly controlled by the system and algorithm.
However, she did mention one special condition: she would consider the offer if it meant collaborating with director Greta Gerwig, whose involvement would truly pique her interest in a Marvel project.
During her podcast appearance, Kristen Stewart remarked, “I will likely never do a Marvel movie… it sounds like a f***ing nightmare, actually. You would have to put so much money and so much trust into one person … and it doesn’t happen. And so therefore, what ends up happening is this algorithmic, weird experience where you can’t feel personal at all about it. So likely not.”
Kristen Stewart also mentioned that if she were to consider doing a Marvel movie, her one condition would be that the director is Greta Gerwig. She expressed, “But maybe the world changes, that’s what I’m saying. How could I tell you no when maybe one day … if Greta Gerwig asked me to do a Marvel movie, then I would do it.” Greta Gerwig is the Academy Award-nominated writer-director known for her work on last year’s “Barbie,” as well as the acclaimed films “Lady Bird” and “Little Women.”
Recently, Kristen Stewart premiered two of her films, “Love Me” and “Love Lies Bleeding,” at the 40th edition of the Sundance Film Festival. Additionally, she was honored with the Visionary Award at the same festival.
